Eastern Sierra News: Tri-County Fair CEO Jen McGuire on Upcoming Events

oh we’re so excited um grandstand events we have thursday night we have the warrior wrestling it’s professional warrior it’s professional wrestling and they’re battling for the title belt it’s men and women um it’s free with fate with a paid fair mission so it’s a must-see friday night is our big night that’s our concert that’s wynonna judd in concert and that’s a winona from the judds that starts at seven o’clock friday night again her tickets also include fair admission so it’s a great deal 25 bucks you can see wynonna getting to the fair saturday night is open rodeo and you’ll see a lot of locals compete as well as some amateurs and professionals it’s a great time that’s free with fair paid admission and then sunday is the local favorite it’s demolition derby and no explanation needed if you’re from bishop you know what that’s all about well i think remain safe is a new norm i think we have to learn how to adjust with big crowds um indoor outdoor activities big mass events in order for us to survive and i think to do it safely is very very very important um and also to host to be successful to your event support as well because you know without the attendance that’s revenue and without the revenue there’s no event a lot of nonprofits rely on the fair we’ve got the lions club we’ve got several of the youth sports teams up in the high school that come in and do things for us so there’s a lot of non-profits that rely on the fair too to be successful but it’s i think the new norm is to be successful and remain safe safety precautions we’re trying to eliminate inside any indoor activities most of what we’re going to be doing will be outdoors at this year’s fair we might have one exhibit indoors and we’re just going to use one building this year we’ll monitor the building we’ll allow limited access and mass will be required inside the building we will have hand washing stations and hand sanitizer throughout the grounds in the buildings in the bathrooms and we are controlling the crowd and if we were prepared that if we had to we could limit the crowd if we needed to as of right now we don’t have those limitations put upon us but if we need to we will well we’ve had our drive-in series all summer with some a few movies and a few concerts we are gearing up for a big barbecue chili cook-off music beer festival probably late fall early winter we’re gearing up for some of the local favorites like the fall colors the choo choo swap meet um we’re gonna do a halloween hot tier on grounds again this year we did a drive through one last year and we could do a drive-through if if we need to but as of right now we’re going to try to do it where kids can walk through it’s a we partner with the city of bishop and it’s a trunk or treat and i think we’re going to have a scary zone with the haunted house so look for that in the near future you’ll see some teasers out there on that but we’re excited about that
