Ex-Afghanistan Vice President Arrives In Panjshir To Join The Northern Alliance Against Taliban

and first cutting across to these latest pictures that have been accessed by republic of the former afghan vice president of afghanistan ahmad ziya masood arriving at panchayat to join the resistance forces ahmadiyya masood the former vice president of afghanistan has joined the northern alliance in panchir through the zakistan those pictures on your screens and senior executive editor abhishek kapoor joining us on the broadcast as he gets us further details and this certainly is wreaking in good news for afghanistan after seven long days abhishek well uh swisha it actually shows that uh the northern alliance forces on the northern ranch 2.0 forces are galvanizing that there is a fraternal feeling that everything should be done to make sure that the taliban are ousted and the gathering that we see in the pictures on air also apart from these leaders have pictures of some russian mi helicopters perhaps the ones that brought ammunition arms uh to bolster the defenses of these national resistance forces from tajikistan so i think in all if you look at the developments of the last 24 hours it becomes clear that uh uh the the forces under uh ahmed masood the son of uh massoud and uh are galvanizing into action be the number of taliban who have been eliminated because they were trying to lay siege of panchayat valley or the number of the arms and ammunition that have come from tajikistan or the open support the tajikistan has offered which essentially assures uh uh supplies chain uh so far as conductor war is concerned so i think a picture is emerging suicide wherein you can say with certain confidence that the taliban control of afghanistan is not complete and is not going to be complete for some time to come even after the americans have left and that even if there is an outward chance uh outside chance for these national resistance forces to defeat the taliban they are at least moving in the right direction with the bolstering of supplies and this kind of morale boost by coming off these leaders from tajikistan or wherever they were till this time absolutely abhishek fact is that it is building they are getting stronger they are putting up a fight and this should certainly intimidate the taliban because they had not expected this in the least abhishek isn’t it well they would not have uh the the fact of the matter is that uh the manner in which taliban captured kabul at gunpoint they would have thought that everyone would melt away everyone would run away like uh the president ashraf ghani but then this rearguard action so to say that is happening by the nationalist resistance forces uh taliban might not have been caught off guard you know they are professional uh not professional mercenary fighters uh and uh they can uh fight uh a war 24 7 they have done that with the american for 20 years and more i think but then they would have they would see in this a challenge which is not easy to surmount they have seen power after power and leader after leader collapsing in front of the brute force and and their conduct but then this resistance really builds on and continues to do so for a longest period of time then the world community perhaps which is an absolute abject surrender before taliban might might realize that all is not lost and the taliban can still be defeated and then we are looking at a longish period of civil war in afghanistan perhaps asia absolutely abhishek and just to know that in the same country in those same territories in those same regions the locals have stood up against them women have stood up against them the courage that they may not have gathered in all these years but today they are doing that is certainly a huge message to the taliban oh yes i mean after two decades of democracy uh and uh a democratic rule it’s a very different kind of uh afghanistan that even taliban is encountering so the courage with which the women came out and protested on the streets of kabul on day one itself i believe your second day uh would have that would have taken taliban off guard not there not as much this nationalist forces in the constitutionality and uh matter in which flags were taken out and rallies were taken out through the streets not just in kabul but across the country uh with afghan nationals and that’s the taking development of god and and that’s why foreign they were not even willing to negotiate with anyone uh they thought that they had just arrived but then now these kind of coming in behind a rebellion coming in i think my conversations that are going on with various leaders on the other side led by former president hamid karzai and abhishek these pictures certainly suggest that they are building and putting together a strategy in place and of course it’s happening at a very fast pace time is certainly not a luxury they have and which is why as much support they can gain as fast and put together as much might against the taliban all of these factors are really coming together with these minds now working towards this well hopefully hopefully you know they would have a critical mass to sustain uh sushi i remember because even these nationalist forces uh if you look at the population of uh of of uh panchayat valley it’s about uh just a little under two lakhs and uh if these resistant forces are anything between ten to twenty thousand that’s uh that can sustain uh a war only for that that period and then i think the game of numbers takes over so i think uh what is important is that uh uh pancho valley sends across a message this resistance across the country in afghanistan and then people rise in rebellion against taliban that seems to be the only scenario where taliban can be defeated remember taliban have captured almost entire american weaponry that was given to the afghan national army which stood at about 300 000 and that’s a huge number of taliban themselves are anything between 60 to 80 000 so they have weapons evolution that can last them uh uh for long uh while the supplies with the nationalist registration forces might constrain uh having said that if they can sustain maybe this this sentiment would uh spread across the country and make life difficult for the taliban as well right abject stay on with us we’re also trying to get as many voices at this point to be able to understand the situation better major general ak savage is now with us on the phone line and sir fact remains that a few days ago we were really trying to understand if panchi could really be that central point for the resistance force to put out that message to the civilians to all those wanting to fight against the taliban to come here and within three to four days this is really seeming like a reality 300 taliban terrorists wiped out because see the point is taliban is not invincible see taliban has not won it is the afghan forces which are lost they never gave the resistance to taliban they just rendered it in fact had they given them a resistance and fought against that taliban couldn’t have taken over afghanistan in next about a year or so so the point today is in punching this resistance which is building up all of the national alliance is a very good resistance it is gaining momentum and um today what is happening is though it is slightly late they should have started slightly earlier the northern alliance is supposed to recognize the son of hamashia masood the one who was basically the founder father of northern alliance he is heading now and um who was the first president he’s also with him so the issue today is this is the resistance which is getting momentum and once it will gain momentum it will spread in the whole of granite and it is also giving message to the people of afghanistan that they can resist again in taliban you see majority of the people 90 you know the main population of afghanistan is 19 years it means 50 percent of people are born after 2001. they want to live in a free year they want a democracy to come they don’t want sharia law to come so the resistance is coming from the public also and another alliance is now becoming stronger day by day tajikistan has given them a lot of weapon equipment and helicopter they have a problem on logistic supply they have only 40 000 people but they are people coming now in the point is the special courses off of non-voters which are run away they are also joining i’m only saying it is the beginning it is a very good beginning and i’m telling we are gaining trying to strength and in time to reckon this will be a resistance which will give the momentum in the whole afghanistan and taliban can be challenged that is the message which you are spreading today and the point is though it is slightly late very right thank you major general a.k.a for uh sharing that uh message with us on republic major general k.k sinha is also with us on the phone line and sir are you also pinning your hopes against this uh resistance force and uh the kind of developments that are now coming in are you also hopeful that uh the taliban can be fought against and these very people these very locals will do that yeah i’m very hopeful because of the view that you know initially it started with array of popes now it is getting absolutely you know from then because uh you know this resistance movement has started in seven uh provinces fantasies and beautiful thing and a very good thing and very solid thing which has happened that you know tajikistan started giving the support in the form of logistics at this place you know look like that you know ammunitions are coming you know food supply is coming you know fuels is coming and more choppers i was just told you know there’s a breaking in your only which i have seen is a wonderful development when um white you know the former vice president under karjai yeah he has arrived there um is already there he’s also one of those uh vice president so i think you know now it is a wonderful uh you know things which is happening it is not only party but which you know certain costumes have come on uh that is also a wonderful it is not that you know complete pastors are there with uh now taliban so this is um it is my hope which i think you know about five six days i was thinking you know the day crossed over and ahmad masood supported him i think it is a very very good development and i feel that the more people should join even the russians should give some support which bakes should should also come in and the americans the way they have delayed now it is coming very loud and clear that they will uh you know delay their departure and the way the talibans are getting rattled i i think you know it is a very good sign and one more good development i think might like to be just in the next five seconds you know today the paralympic um you know the people they have flown there and they are marching with the flag parallel olympic people have over gone there they are from every races of afghanistan so i think in a wonderful uh development which is taking place all right so many thanks for speaking to republic and moving on
