Getting Ready for Back-to-School (Pre-K)!! | Mom Vlog

it's alicia what's your name boo-boo valerie and we are here because we are going to be sharing how we are preparing baby girl for pre-k we officially got the word that of course she's transitioning to pre-k this year um which is like a really huge deal for the both of us i don't know if she's as phased or like she's as i don't know nervous as i am but i'm really nervous about it mainly because it's like this is the last year before she really starts school school um and so yesterday we took a trip and we bought um some things for her to get ready for school so i have partnered with noggin to share how we are getting ready for valerie to go to pre-k the resources that we have been using to get her you know more educated and prepared for kindergarten and then also some of the fun things um that her and i mainly her picked out for um the new school year the first thing that i have been really starting to implement with valerie is the noggin app i recently put her on game and i introduced the noggin app to her especially because she's getting so much older and like she's really into learning right now i went ahead and subscribed to the noggin app and you guys valerie has been hooked since the minute i showed her the app um she has always loved noggin she loves all the characters and all the shows on noggin nick jr so honestly it was just like a win-win situation and i feel like she has learned so much from the app thus far it has just so many different um ways to learn like different shows to watch she is really into the reading parts of the app so she's been reading a lot more on the app um they teach math they teach reading a course um she's been learning new words um what's your favorite game so far on the app pup and that's a math game so she's really been into that um what else you did an ice cream game yesterday that you loved where you learn how to make ice cream so they teach science she also learned about insects the other day so it literally has like a really wide range of um just things that it teaches kids but in a really fun way so they're just super excited about it and like even more interested to learn more um so yeah math reading uh words creativity so it teaches art and music literally like everything that the kiddos love to learn and um need to learn it's all on the noggin app so how do you recommend you guys check out the back-to-school uh pre-k school year so boo-boo you got the markers out already okay you want to swim the markers first here let's show them your pack so we got her a fresh pack of markers yeah she loves the pink color but we got her a fresh pack you guys see here i'm super excited about this because for one it's all washable so no matter like i'm hoping she sticks to coloring because we color wear on paper yeah we color on paper but if we have an accident i could easily just wash it off right boo boo um and i had also realized towards the end of last school year her homework assignments because now she does get homework um they were getting more like intense as far as like more coloring more you know needed markers colored pencils the whole thing so i set her up with you know brand new packs of all those things so that way she's ready for the school year so yeah we got our markers so we got her markers we also got what poops what's this her brand new notebook for this school year yep it's pink so i figured for this she could keep it at home to practice her words you know her numbers her letters like to get her really comfortable with writing she already does that at school and i'm sure this upcoming pre-k school year she'll like really be um like literally writing all kinds of words and stuff like that so i wanted to get her a fresh brand new notebook she's already trying to start practicing writing to get her ready for the school year you're writing your name how do you spell your name [Music] yep yep and she's y'all she's doing so good with her writing like i'm very pleased with how good she writes for a four-year-old so i can only imagine like as she practices more um how much more developed her handwriting skills will be and she'll be i think very well equipped and prepared for kindergarten we also got a fresh pack of colored pencils she's already really used to crayons but i wanted to start getting her used to um the colored pencils as well as of course the markers also helps with like learning how to color in the lines and just like tracing and stuff like that so i really wanted to start her off with a fresh pack of color pencils we also got a new pack of washable crayons um she has gone through her old pack of crayons she's probably lost like cinnamon like the whole pack isn't even there anymore so i wanted to start off fresh for the school year because she's always coloring and with her homework her homework requires color so we desperately needed a fresh pack of washable crayons for baby girl let's show them your new backpack what she is so excited about it's frozen let's put it right here she picked this out herself yes you love the colors what color is on the backpack what colors do you see let's see what colors do you see i don't know yep you got blue it's pretty much blue and purple what's this color right here rainbow it's a rainbow right there yep it's so pretty who is this that's the horsey yeah it's so cute i love the sparkle yes yeah but you love the sparkles are you so excited to wear this to school yeah i promised her she could get a new backpack for the school year you said what and yes yeah fill it up with stuff and then it's gonna be fun and it's gonna be frozen so we gotta put your school supplies in here and you're gonna change your clothes in here yes mia what else do we have she has a new water bottle you gotta show them the camera booboo she got a new yep she has a new water bottle that she picked out herself so it's the frozen cup you gotta hold it up really high like that there you go so when you see it i gotta show them up close this is valerie's lunchbox for school come here blue so valerie already says she wants to do we want to fill up with what snacks lots of snacks and juice and water in your lunch you gotta eat lunch yeah so i got her so i got her um this uh lunch kit for you know for school she does eat the lunch at school too sometimes she does want to bring her own lunch to school so i got her this for those days and it's pretty you know it's pretty thick so i can fit a good amount of food in there and if y'all don't know anything about valerie this child this one right here my beautiful angel she eats she eats a lot of food you eat a lot of food don't you yes and then i got her a new blanket for nap time because the other one she has um is getting too small for her and come here valerie she is pretty tall like she's actually pretty tall so i need to get her a new blanket for the new school year and she picked this one out do you know what this these words say they born magical yes so that's what it says and it's also valerie hold on boo boo so yeah it says for magical and it has a really pretty unicorn on it so that will be yep it has rainbows and it's bright and it fits valerie's personality so well so we got her that for her nap time chopsticks chopsticks that's not chopsticks that's glue sticks we got her some glue sticks so i have chopsticks it's not chopstick it's what it's not chopsticks it's what glue sticks why do you keep calling it chopsticks sweet pea because because it looks like a chopstick okay i'll go with it but yeah these are jumbo glue sticks because yeah her homework does require her to like cut stuff out and glue stuff down so um i went ahead and got her some jumbo ones so she can do it herself instead of like having me to do it so that way she gets like in the routine of like you know cutting and gluing and they can't show them these what are these figures yeah because her homework also requires us to cut stuff out so i got her these like beginner scissors so that way she's less likely to of course cut herself i'll be there to assist her every time but um i did want to get her these beginner ones for you know to start off with and for her to learn how to you know hold them and cut them so we got these new scissors can you pass me these please yes they're pencils for whenever you have to write and you have to trace and whenever you do your homework too boo boo yep so um she already had these at the house but uh i wanted to give her something to go to pre-play school you are mommy said that you're going to pre-k school okay you know why because that means you're getting so big okay i always stop going okay no i want you to go to pre-k but i don't want you to grow up okay i don't want you to girl because you're my little baby okay you're my baby forever you would no you're gonna be my baby forever can i kiss i love you but yeah we got her um some new pencils because she needed some the other ones i don't know what the other ones are yes ma'am and then we got her some tape for her homework so that way you have tape and you have glue sticks or whenever you have to cut stuff out and paste stuff and then it has some glue i think that's everything we got all of our supplies and then so it's time to go to preset school she's so excited to pre-k school i'm excited for her i thought this is like this is the last year y'all and we're almost there and i'm so excited for her she's learning so much i know that there is so much growth going to happen in her pre-k year but she's excited i'm excited we are going to successfully complete the school year you're going to learn so much and don't forget noggin is offering their service for only 99 cents per month for
