[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdhSFhTCkPo"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]it seems that there are some members of the morrison government who are urging the prime minister to increase the funding for the national schools chaplaincy program claiming that kids are struggling to cope with the impacts of the pandemic and and what they're calling climate change alarmism well firstly it's not alarmist for kids to be worried about climate change based on science it's perfectly reasonable and frankly more members of the government should follow their lead secondly if these mps really cared about the well-being of australia's students why not just expand the funding to include qualified youth workers instead of persisting with this ideologically driven and highly discriminatory program there's many experienced and well-qualified youth workers out there who could help teachers parents and school communities cope with the pressures that we're all under at the present but the chaplaincy program deliberately excludes these people just because they're not religious it's blatant discrimination third i'd imagine that there's many chaplains out there who would not be at all happy that the government seems to think that they're somehow agents of theirs expected to indoctrinate kids with the government's version of climate change denialism there's no doubt that kids do need more support as do their parents but throwing more money at an ideologically driven and discriminatory program is not the way to do it you<br><!-- wp:image {"id":1776,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} -->rn<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img class="wp-image-1776" src="https://en.videoencontexto.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Meredith_Doig_on_the_school_chaplaincy_program_EdhSFhTCkPo.jpg" alt="Meredith Doig on the school chaplaincy program" /></figure>rn<!-- /wp:image -->[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
