tasha mama bear prepping so you already know what time it is get your drink pull up okay i'm gonna talk about this bad boy another time this is my favorite my new favorite water filter in a water bottle capacity absolutely love it epic filters i'll talk about it another time though okay today i want to talk about something pretty important pretty scary um i had a subscriber started some dialogue with me um and we were talking about flooding how to prepare for flooding and basically what had happened in waverly texas you guys right i said waverly texas do you know this is twice that i started this video it's waverly tennessee i'm not even gonna try to redo it again because i just keep saying texas so waverly tennessee okay um you have to be living under a rock if you haven't heard about what's going on there right and basically you know counties in tennessee um got hit with a huge huge rainstorm right and there wasn't a lot of warning right and it was basically 17 inches of rain that they received um within hours and it's devastating it's it's so much water and so much flooding it's that it literally was took houses took cars took whole infrastructure just away right swept it away um it's crazy right it's it's crazy and it's scary and i think hopefully i'm doing it justice i think the count of um people who have died is at 18 um to include some babies y'all some some twins that were ripped from a father's arms um it's just devastating you know and of course when anything like this happens um like i think i i keep saying texas because with texas same thing they had some storms some weather that they weren't expecting they expected to maybe handle it better than they did um and so it was it was devastating as well and so my i have questions when things like this happen when natural disasters happen i have questions and my first question was like is it a flood zone is that a flood plain is that an area that floods i already know that there's a lot of areas in tennessee that flood um military parks millington tennessee is a huge navy base well not huge but it's a navy base and it floods all the time okay they're always having weather um problems there okay and so i know the state to have had flooding we've been seeing it on the news of them having flooding in these previous months okay and i guess that this this area wasn't necessarily you know what constitutes as a flood zone or flood area and a lot of the people did not have insurance because of that and it just makes me think of all different things like how you can't even prepare can you prepare for something so devastating so last minute so 17 hours of you know or 17 hours 17 inches of rain like that that's just so devastating that it has the strength to just rip through a town almost like the devastation of a tornado or a hurricane i mean it's it's crazy and how you prepare for that but it takes me to two things that i want to talk about today and that is one severe weather okay i've talked and touched a little bit on this in my other videos about how the last two years has been some crazy weather patterns there's crazy things going on there's more extreme weather and it doesn't really matter where you live it's kind of everywhere okay so that's the first topic is severe weather but then more importantly i want to talk about like your forever home where would you dig in at where is the place that you plan on digging in and being forever and unfortunately a lot of people um either are in a place that they cannot keep moving they don't have the money to do it they don't have the funds they don't have the employment movement whatever the case may be family they're tied down by something right some kind of um you know not requirement but yeah requirement there's something that is making them where they cannot leave their area right i i understand that um but there's people that can and when we talk about our forever home like even us we still talk about like where are we gonna end up because there's all types of requirements and i always say like how could you or why would you ever want to move and and i'm really talking about my homeowners now and purchase a home that let's just say some examples and i'm going to use myself as an example i would never live in the deep south because of hurricane that whole area gets hit hardcore from from south carolina north carolina all the way down florida all the way wrap around all the way through to texas is hurricanes right and i would never put myself in a situation where i was purchasing a home that was in that area knowing that there is a very good chance or a chance at all of everything i own in life being destroyed yes people will be like no we have insurance it's fine if you have not lost everything in life before that's devastating you can't replace every single thing that you've owned that you've worked for that you've gotten it all types of moments in life okay money is not everything you guys let me say it again money is not everything okay the things that we build and grow together as people that we accumulate and keep in the home yeah those aren't everything either okay but they're attached to memories and different things and i i just would never buy knowing that my home and everything i've ever worked for could just be ripped from me because of a hurricane i feel the same way when you go a little bit north about tornado alley i'm like how could you have and people will be like oh well we have storms you know we have the storm shelters we're fine we're just getting those we're fine again though it's more than that it's more than you know one is my family even home to get to that storm shelter and then two it's devastating to think about everything you've ever worked in for just gone all your memories all your children's memories everything okay and that's a lot for me and that's why i i would never personally purchase right now we're trying to figure out where we're gonna go and you know we're talking about things like okay can't buy any known flood zones but for me look at tennessee is a perfect example not a flood zone but getting lots of rain you know anywhere has the capacity to like flood right flash floods things like that for me elevation is very important our current home right now is not elevated like if a lot of rain fell which rain falls there all the time anyway but let's just say something like tennessee happened there we would be in the same boat a lot of little towns and cities across this united states would be in the same boat if it happened to drop 17 inches of rain like that like you can't prepare for something that didn't you didn't know was gonna happen now i'm gonna come back to that didn't know it was gonna happen part okay um but going back to the forever home stuff right i need elevation because of the whole threat of that i don't like coastlines because of the threat of earthquakes and tsunamis so i don't like any of the coast when i'm looking at homes i'm not looking at beach areas you'll never see me looking at beach areas i want some elevation i like mountains cascades i like having the elevation part and being ahead of stuff now there's stuff you have to worry about as well like mudslides and things like that but there's a lot you can do though to prepare for from some kind of mudslides and what um and it comes down to what um makes mudslides happen now northern california first of all i wouldn't be living in northern california but i'm originally from oregon i love oregon the cascades and the mountains of oregon it's beautiful up there however crazy fires oregon is known for fires though those forests are on fire all the time so again even though it is beautiful has the elevation all of that stuff i'm not gonna purchase a home knowing that there's a good chance that it's going to catch on fire you know what i'm saying so i say these things because severe weather is happening and and i don't want to get into people whether that's um whether that's being orchestrated right i've heard all the stories and theories of orchestrated [ __ ] weather right um i don't want to necessarily talk about climate control and climate and it's climate change and it's this and that what i want you to just know is that look the whole point is that we try to get ahead of things and be prepared and severe weather is happening you know just this morning missouri we've been looking at missouri in that whole area it gets stinking hot there you guys with crazy humidity okay but there's beautiful land there and beautiful stuff but again you have to go to the right spot for elevation two you gotta be it's hot it's hot right and it's a different type of heat than a lot of different other parts that get hot okay so you just have to think about weather and think about where you're gonna put your house which where's your forever home gonna go and then two this still pertains to anybody else what can you do if you cannot leave you're stuck where you're stuck what can you do to prepare your home the best way you can you know something like waverly tennessee i don't know i do know that my subscriber did mention that you know hey they get flood warnings though all the time i mean it's very common if they're not in a flood plain but they do get flood warnings all the time or you know little messages like but it becomes a sense of you get them so often that okay there's a storm coming and be careful of some heavy rainfall and then you just think okay i'm gonna be careful maybe you put some sandbags out to protect certain low-lying areas of your home right maybe you go through your preps maybe you have an inflatable boat you're gonna make sure it's good to go do some maintenance on it um but baby something like waverly comes through 17 inches you know none of that stuff is gonna work towards that none of that stuff is going to help two you have prop p um that they're warned so much that you have people that were like this is no big deal i mean they're always there they always warn us about this right so you have to take heed one on every single warning that happens and literally walk around your home and and make a determination of of the levels of severity that could happen okay and prep for as best you can i have um some other subscribers that are currently getting their homes ready they're hardening their homes they're weatherizing their homes they're redoing piping to make it stronger and they're getting ready for different things right people who live in fire the fires are so crazy maybe they never invested in some nice um metal siding or metal roof and they're doing those things right so it's just that you've got to do the things to make your situation the best it can get where you're at in regards to severe weather and having to deal with that and then also um if you're not how do you make the situation as best as you can okay every part of this country has different weather and weather things that they deal with um we looked at weather in montana the other day and it was hot as hell there okay it was hot it was it was like 96 humidity i had no idea it even got like that there right but yet i'm looking up some stuff you know the other day and the current weather and i was like what the like i i just didn't no i'm thinking i have to deal with snow and stuff so you really got to do your research really look and think about whether when you are buying or purchasing or doing anything and then secondly if you are in a situation where you're already in your forever home and it is what it is um you've got to do what you can do i would say that you know in the state of tennessee i would have already had fled insurance only because i know that state to have flooding issues i don't know the state to have stuff like waverly right that type of weather but i do know that there's flooding there so i probably would have that there's there's points to having insurance because it's just best to have obviously if you don't have the extra money and you can't do it you can't do it but if you're not living in a flood zone and you get flood insurance it's not going to be that expensive because you don't live in a flood zone okay but then when something something like this happens those companies they rethink you know what they need to be charging people um if they don't have it already right because now they're like you know the damage there is just astounding i mean you have people who lost their homes and can never go back and they didn't have insurance and god bless the people that maybe didn't have any kind of insurance maybe for whatever reason lost a job or whatever and let you know any kind of home insurance or something go to the wayside okay so you just never know people's situations but we just bless i mean bless their hearts it's heartbreaking it is heartbreaking and i don't you know for me to sit here and be like you could prepare for that what that's done you could have done something to to to fix that and get ahead of it no there are certain things that you just you can't okay having some of the flooding and i did a video on the on how to prepare for flooding um maybe having some preps and preparedness would have helped the situation in regards to you evacuating and getting away right the stuff i told you wasn't gonna save your home wasn't gonna save the car and everything you know literally going away some people it happened so fast they're literally hanging onto stuff for dear life um but evacuation having an inflatable boat having a boat on your property or on your roof or somewhere okay having a way to access your roof quickly and right away okay um you know having some preps with just some water and some food that's up high you know i don't know what you what all you can do right um there's some very simple things you can do for basic flooding and to prepare your home and divert water and things like that but unfortunately none of that stuff really works for a situation like like waverly it just does it just doesn't right um and i i you know i'm so sorry so so sorry um and i hope that people that are watching this really start thinking about this stuff think about your home and where it's located and and what can you do to keep it safe the the best you can and um if there's stuff that you can't physically prep to make it better or to get the situation better maybe you better have that insurance and have good insurance and have it on everything have that fire insurance i know there's pieces of insurance that you don't necessarily have to get okay you need your home insurance you need your renters insurance you need separate fire insurance you need flooding insurance you need that stuff because the weather um these days is just it's real wonky you guys and i don't think that it's gonna let up at all i think we're gonna continue to see these crazy things happen and it's all about being as as prepared as possible and obviously there's some things you can't um help right what's going to happen is what's going to happen um and at that point then you know it's just a matter of insurance and and getting um getting some sort of money to replace the basic things you know it's not going to replace memories um and specific things that you had possibly but it could help at least get your home back or a place to live back okay um but you need to do all the other things that could possibly save people in your in your home okay um having some simple preps could have could have helped you know um i don't know how fast that the 17 inches came down um you know was there was there a window of evacuation that could have happened again middle of the night people woke up like this so it's not like people are awake either again this is not your normal situation that's just that easy to prepare for okay um but i but i would have a boat if i lived in any kind of area and i would have gear and i would have stuff as high as possible and evaction roots ready so that if i did wake up in the middle of the night and my house is totally flooding um there's time to react there's time to evacuate um there's a lady on the news you guys that literally was videoing out her door the water going by her home just rushing right and this lady later after that her somewhere in the house and for however however they ended up outside the house they got rushed away right and as they got rushed away they hit the side of a house they both went under his the mother did not make it up and the son did but he said he was fighting for his life right as he came up and did stuff and you know i don't know that moment where she's videoing to me i'm not videoing i'm literally taking a high ground and getting to whatever i have an emergency boat an inflatable boat i'm putting something together that you know can float you know i'm putting on life vests on my kids like those are the things that i'm trying to do because i'm trying to survive um and you may not you might wake up in the middle of water and and it's kind of like anything else that happens you have to react and um but those supplies that you have there ready to be able to uh react and evacuate as safe as you can you know in some cases it's just go to the roof and you're okay now this though this water was taking homes away right it was taking cars away so you know there were some people that it wasn't just as easy as just go to the roof and you just stay there so just some food for thought you guys you know i think it we learn from from all types of scenarios and i think that just like texas when we're talking so much about it there's something to be learned and if you're still in a situation where you're figuring out you're making moves to figure out where you're going to live and where you're going to where you want to dig into you need to think about weather hardcore think about weather and think outside the box don't just assume you're going somewhere and it's like hot and you're like okay i don't have we don't have to worry about snow we don't have to worry about hardening okay um because i think stuff's gonna shift okay so you need to think of all seasons and the bad things that come with those seasons the type of storms that come with those seasons and then any special area that you're in the hurricane the tornado the heavy snow the fire the drought areas think about all that stuff think about the water okay think about survival and water we drove up through dry ass california all the way up just no water just dry just dry dry dry dry got to oregon started getting green but still super dry right parts of it were green of course but just super dry still got to washington you guys water everywhere there is water everywhere in washington okay not to mention it rains on a regular basis there okay that is a fabulous date for a source of water okay it was and it was beautiful stuff was green and there was water everywhere it's not like you would have to fight somebody for water there's so much water around right it's not like hey you're gonna have to fight and maybe um marauders could take over a dam or whatever there's water everywhere it's right there on the side of the road and ponds and rivers and lakes it's stinking everywhere okay so think about that if you are still in a in a movement type of pattern where you think you're gonna still move you're trying to buy or trying to get to where you're supposed to get think of severe weather weather patterns think about other survival stuff that has to do with weather right water rain that type of thing and um to help you make those decisions okay and if you're where you're going to be forever then you do the best you can do okay so you know i would love to hear in the comments below this is this is um a sensitive subject because this stuff just happened and um i'm not even sure if i covered it like the subscriber you know wanted me to talk about it um it's but it's sad right and but there's something to be learned and and even the subscribers in the county over and they dealt with some stuff as well some flooding not as bad as waverly of course but flooding and they had like a bunch of a slurry of tornadoes that hit the same night that just were crazy and um he mentions on his video that none touched down but could you imagine you're dealing with flooding and then you're also dealing with tornado warnings like how do you get into a tornado shelter when there's flooding going on think about that how do you make that decision i'm gonna put my family in this storm shelter that's filling up with water but there's also tornadoes so how do you stay safe okay and that's that's scary you know and god bless they are fine they are good um but i'm telling you so i still would love to hear the comments you guys take care of each other and i'll see you guys tomorrow on the next video take care bye [Music]<br><!-- wp:image {"id":1776,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} -->rn<figure
